Doug Snyder & Bob Thompson – Daily Dance

Daily Dance Logo

Amazing, unique, celebrated, and genuinely rare artifact from Rural Ohio. After stepping out of a Stooges concert in 1971, Doug Snyder and Bob Thompson set up a studio in their kitchen and attempted to record a record HEAVIER than the Stooges. They were completely successful, and the resulting LP, their only release at the time (put out by themselves, privately, in a very limited number (500)), immediately became an underground legend and favorite amongst the likes of Carla Bley. A frenzy of distorted guitar and improvised drumming. The type of album that quickly achieves mythical status and begs so many questions yet leaves so few answers. Some songs start with a semblance of a groove or rhythm until they quickly deteriorate into a wall of pscyhedelic noise. Sip the juice: clip 1 & clip 2

Repackaged and remastered with liner notes including an introduction by Dante Carfagna.

CHANDRA – Transportation

Chandra - Transportation [Front Cover]
1 x Vinyl LP
1 x 32-Page Booklet

Price Varies Depending on Location (for shipping)

Chandra Oppenheim was 12 years-old when she dubbed her vocals over the pulsing abstract dance textures provided by art-punkers The Dance. An eponymous 4-track EP was self-released in 1980 whilst CHANDRA reformed into the CHANDRA DIMENSION with a full teenage backing band. After many New York shows and a tour on the west-coast, then 14 year-old Chandra left the art world to finishing schooling – leaving behind a singular artifact of the New York underground.

The reissue contains the original CHANDRA EP alongside 4 unreleased CHANDRA DIMENSION recordings in a small run of 500 vinyl copies (accompanied by a 32-page booklet with photos and history).

Aided by underground post-punkers the Dance, Chandra was only 12 years old when she recorded the “Transportation” EP, but the music is some of the most singularly “outsider” pieces of disco music committed to tape. Also included is the shelved EP that followed which found Chandra backed by a fellow band of teenagers. A perfect time capsule of the early-’80s post-punk sound, albeit heard through younger, more innocent ears. A huge recommendation.”

Ian Tamblyn – Moosetracks

Ian Tamlbyn - Moosetracks 1972

In 1972, Ian Tamblyn released a very limited (approximately 200 copies pressed) demo recording. Pre-dating his official first Juno-winning release, Ian Tamblyn (1976), Moosetracks shows Tamblyn at his most sincere and unguarded beginnings. A must for anyone with an ear for the highly personal.
