Mission Statement
Georg Cantor was a German mathematician most commonly associated with proving there are more irrational numbers than rational. This, to me, is symbolic of the treasures we find in music outside the (rational) mainstream. Independent music has and will continue to thrive in much more bountiful quantities than its major label counterpart.
Cantor Records is a labour of love of ex-mathematician Aaron Levin. Cantor is primarily occupied with reissuing out of print recordings from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, though we may release some “new” things in the future. We strive to delivery high-quality, legitimate, and complete releases. Often with nifty booklets. It’s a lot of work, but we think you will appreciate it.
